Direct Hire - Full Time position in Sumter, SC Position ID: 2570 An excellent position with an American medical device and technology company Cost Accounting Manager Please apply ONLY if you have 5+ years of relevant dynamic accounting / finance experience in a manufacturing environment Visa sponsorship is not available for this position We can ONLY consider your application if you have: 1: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. 2: 5+ years of relevant dynamic accounting / finance experience in a manufacturing environment: manufacturing operations, product costing, manufacturing variances and inventory control, financial analysis, COGS, CAPEX, and budgeting & forecasting experience required. 3: Knowledge of corporate accounting policies and procedures, and GAAP. 4: Proven track record leading and serving as an effective team member in a large organization. This position requires the maintenance of accounting and reporting procedures resulting in accurate product costs and manufacturing performance reporting and ensures product inventories and manufacturing assets are adequately safeguarded and financial reporting. Additionally, will occasionally interact with Global Marketing, Research and Development, and other General & Administrative functions. Promote change, as needed, to ensure compliance to GAAP/SOX, reviewing and delivering recommendations for continuous improvement, and clearly communicating relevant fiscal information to executive management. Position could potentially require limited domestic travel. This position will report directly to the Plant Controller. DESIRED (not required) SKILLS: A CPA, MBA, or CMA Experience with SAP Audit experience preferred, and knowledge of SOX controls. Duties and Responsibilities Partner with the local, business unit and finance teams to maintain the financial integrity for all activities associated with the Sumter manufacturing facility, as well as Global IDS Quality function. Lead all aspects of all planning, reporting, and analysis of Standard Product Costing, Manufacturing Variances, Inventory, and its component parts. Develop standard costs and maintaining fixed assets Ensure reserves are calculated appropriately Ensure manufacturing performance is accurately reported Maintain business visibility to all risks & opportunities in the manufacturing space Quarterly forecasting Partner with the Manufacturing Directors and Plant LT to optimize finance related operational decisions, ensure appropriate financial/accounting, introduce process control as needed, and safeguard company assets. Drive continuous financial improvement through Gross Profit analysis, Inventory analysis, New Product and Discontinuance Analysis, and Spending analysis. Ensure financial reports and records are prepared in compliance with US GAAP and BD financial policies, and financial controls are maintained and that the requirements of the Sarbanes/Oxley Act are met. Assist both internal and external auditors with their periodic review of financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.
