This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in our financial decision-making processes, providing comprehensive financial updates to both senior management and stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of the cost accounting information, preparing monthly and annual reports, and conducting cost audits. This role is ideal for a highly analytical and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in manufacturing and cost accounting.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage the entire cost accounting system and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial standards and principles.
2. Prepare and analyze monthly journal entries related to inventory, cost of goods sold, and manufacturing expenses.
3. Conduct regular audits of bills of materials (BOM) and routing.
4. Perform lifecycle cost management (LCM) analysis and interpret cost audits.
5. Leverage CMS and Solarsoft to manage cost accounting tasks effectively.
6. Collaborate with the manufacturing department to monitor production costs and inventory levels.
7. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
8. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
9. Participate in the preparation of the annual budget and forecast updates.
10. Maintain the general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts.
11. Provide cost accounting expertise to internal teams and senior management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cost accounting role within a manufacturing environment.
3. Must have manufacturing experience, preferably automotive.
4. Experience with CMS, Solarsoft, bill of materials (BOM), and lifecycle cost management (LCM) analysis.
5. Strong understanding of budgeting and forecasting principles.
6. Proven ability to prepare accurate journal entries and perform audits.
7. Exceptional skills in monthly reporting and annual budget preparation.
8. Solid understanding of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
9. Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
11. Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
