Overview of the role: Cost Accountant
- Develop and maintain standard cost estimates for materials, labor, and overhead.
- Assist in tracking costs at the project and product level.
- Comfortable directing teams in best practice and GAAP compliant for costing and inventory accounting
- Familiar with material movement from order to ship transactions.
- Reviews inventory transactions and physical movement of material and performing inventory analysis and reconciliations, including inventory reserve adjustments.
- Preparing and presenting cost analysis reports to management and parent company that highlight key findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, engineering, and procurement, to ensure accurate cost data and support cost-saving initiatives.
- Communicating with supply company
- Ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations related to cost accounting and inventory valuation.
Preferred Qualifications: Cost Accountant
- Experience with Epicor ERP software is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Previous experience as a cost accountant preferred
- Familiar with project cost accounting, inventory audit
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
