Corporate Accountant

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant for our long-standing international manufacturing company. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reporting processes for our international manufacturing operations. This is a fully onsite position, with core hours of 9-5PM and free parking.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and internal policies. Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data for international manufacturing entities.

  2. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets. Record and review monthly journal entries and adjustments.

  3. Intercompany Accounting: Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations for multiple entities within the international manufacturing group. Coordinate with subsidiaries to ensure accurate and timely recording of intercompany transactions.

  4. Inventory Accounting: Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis, and inventory reserves. Collaborate with operations teams to reconcile physical inventory counts and resolve discrepancies.

  5. Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews to identify trends, opportunities, and risks. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial analysis.

  6. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts for international manufacturing operations. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and provide explanations for variances.

  7. Audit Support: Assist with external audits and quarterly reviews by providing documentation, schedules, and support as needed. Address auditor inquiries and implement recommendations for process improvements.
  8. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance function. Implement best practices and streamline accounting processes where possible.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with exposure to manufacturing industry accounting.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with international accounting standards and multi-currency transactions is a plus.
