    Primary Responsibilities

    The System Operator is responsible for the accurate and efficient sorting of product and proper preparation for shipment.


    Essential Functions

    • Straighten out all cases coming down from the conveyor.
    • Remove all damage from the conveyor and notify the Triangle Operator.
    • When cases are coming down side-by-side excessively, notify the Triangle Operator immediately.
    • Restart sorter when it shuts down. Restart induct when it shuts down.
    • Remove jams on short lanes and notify Triangle Operator of jams on the long lanes.
    • Notify the Triangle Operator if cases are stuck in lanes that are being released on short lanes.
    • Ensures the perishable waves are placed on time and in totes if required.
    • Helps side by side when necessary to make space.
    • Notifies the palletizing lead or supervisor of issues with any palletizing lanes.
    • Reports any mechanical issues to the maintenance team and immediate supervisor.
    • Walk the sorter when all cases are through the scanner at end of day. Pick up papers and debris.
    • Keep the work area clean.
    • Other duties and special projects as requested.
    • Must maintain good attendance.
    • Maintain safe work practices.
    • Maintain safeguards of confidential company information.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    • High School diploma or GED equivalent
    • Ability to communicate well with internal customers and management.
    • Ability to follow safe working practices, as instructed.
    • Ability to efficiently work independent of direct supervision.

    Qualifications / Additional Skills /?Aptitude:

    • A minimum of one (1) year of previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse atmosphere preferred.
    • Previous experience operating powered industrial equipment (i.e., forklift, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.) preferred.

The?associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions.? The noise levels in the work environment are?typically low to moderate.
