Controls Engineer Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Troubleshoots problems with processes and hardware
- Plans preventive maintenance
- Coordinates with others in order to determine problems and implement solutions
- Provides technical assistance as needed by internal customers
- Manages relations with vendors
- Defines performance metrics
Controls Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering preferred
- 2 to 4 years of work experience in a related field
- Proficient in computer-aided design and drafting software
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to determine customer needs to develop project specifications and scope
- Ability to interpret and implement specifications
- MUST BE ABLE TO PROGRAM FROM SCRATCH
- Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation PLC programming platforms: RSLogix 500, 5000, Studio 5000, Connected Components Workbench, (Omron CX-Programmer, Siemens S7, Mitsubishi GXWorks 2/3 or others are a plus).
- Advanced knowledge of Rockwell Automation HMI development software: FactoryTalk View Studio ME, Studio 5000 View Designer, (Automation Direct C-More, Proface GP-ProX, EasyBuilder Pro, or others are a plus).
- Vision system programming experience: Keyence, Cognex, Teledyne DALSA
Up to 20% travel to assist with setup and debug
