The Controller is responsible to run payroll, perform bank & account reconciliations, record journal entries, manage the general ledger, produce financial statements, interface with financial auditors and other duties as assigned by the CFO.

Controller's Skillset & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited academic institution.
  • Minimum five years of relevant work experience.
  • Construction accounting experience is a plus. ASC 606
  • Prior experience with Sage is a plus.
  • Analyze and reconcile the general ledger to supporting schedules.
  • Run payroll and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Produces timely and accurate financial reports and managerial reports for operational decision-making.
  • Maintenance of labor utilization report.
  • Coordinates with the Chief Financial Officer to maintain the annual operating budget and monitor expenditures against pre-established budgets.
  • Supervises day to day accounting functions.
  • Supports the annual financial audit by providing information to the external audit team.
  • Maintains fixed asset schedules according to the capitalization policy.
  • Administers legal filings - municipal business license renewals, permits.
  • Review, understand and analyze subcontractor financials for prequalification and financial risk on projects.
  • Understand and properly apply U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Coordinate collection and monitor outstanding accounts receivables.
  • Supervise Cash Disbursement processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
