Manufacturing Controller
$130,000 - $170,000 Plus Bonus

Opportunity Overview: Our client, a dynamic and rapidly growing publicly traded entity in the manufacturing sector, is in search of an experienced Controller. Known for its commitment to excellence and innovation, the company stands as a leader in the industry. They are looking to bolster their team with a Controller who will contribute significantly to their ongoing expansion and success.

Role Summary: The Controller will be a key figure in the finance department, overseeing financial management, reporting, and compliance. Working closely with the CFO and the executive team, this role is pivotal in maintaining the financial integrity and regulatory compliance of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Build and manage detailed financial models to predict company performance and pinpoint improvement areas. Analyze financial data to aid strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Direct the annual budget process and create regular forecasts to monitor and compare company performance against goals. Work with department leaders to align financial strategies with corporate objectives.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate precise and timely financial statements following GAAP and regulatory guidelines. Report financial statuses to senior management, the board, and external parties.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and uphold robust internal controls to protect company assets and ensure adherence to policies. Perform periodic audits to check the efficacy of controls and reduce risks.
  • Cash Management: Oversee cash flow and liquidity to fulfill operational requirements and optimize returns on investments. Manage banking relationships to reduce expenses.
  • Tax Compliance: Collaborate with external tax consultants to ensure accurate and timely tax return preparation and compliance. Keep up with tax law changes to reduce liabilities and enhance benefits.
  • Financial Systems: Assess, implement, and maintain financial systems and technologies to enhance process efficiency. Support and train the finance team on best practices and system functionalities.
  • Audit and Compliance: Act as the main point of contact for external audits and regular reviews. Maintain regulatory compliance and address any audit issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is advantageous.
  • At least 8 years of progressive finance or accounting experience, including 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal controls.
  • Prior experience in the Manufacturing industry.
  • Proficient with ERP systems and financial software.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced setting and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong focus on detail with a commitment to accuracy and integrity.
