Job Duties for Controller
- Exercising Servant Leadership, manage and develop the Accounting Department, including the Assistant Controller and the Operations Accounting Manager.
- Manage the month end close, budget and forecasting process.
- Play a key role in the development and execution of the strategic plan.
- Ensure that an adequate system of internal controls is in place and adhered to.
- Serve as liaison to corporate in reporting, audits and systems.
- Ensure that inventory costing is accurate and that appropriate controls are in place; develop processes to minimize inventory levels while maintaining customer service.
- Apply a working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; verify documents for completeness and compliance with government and private agencies
- Recommend methods, systems, and procedural changes to improve operating efficiency and financial information.
- Accountability over data integrity and the functionality of accounting systems.
- Continuously drive to improve processes, policies, and systems to support the company's growth, improve productivity, and control costs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- MBA and/or CPA preferred
- Experience in ERP systems
- Ability to develop relationships with individuals at all levels, including customers, vendors and other employees
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally through various mediums, including phone, e-mail and formal written communication
- Problem solving and innovation skills, including the ability to analyze, interpret, understand and successfully resolve issues within the best interests of the Company.
- A high level of proficiency in Excel
- Professionalism with consistent ability to balance urgency and decisiveness with patience and compassion
- Discretion in managing proprietary information belonging to the company
