The Grenzy Recruiting Group is working closely with a local mid-sized company in the search for a Controller. The controller will be primarily responsible for GAAP compliance and financial reporting and will report to the CFO.
If you are a hands-on accounting leader, with a desire to progress, this could be an excellent opportunity for you. The company is well established and growing, with an average tenure of 10+ years for the accounting/finance team. While already being well-organized and collaborative, team is always looking for ways to improve. This role will ideally be a succession plan for the CFO. Duties include:
- Owning the month end close process; reviewing G/L, preparing adjusting journal entries, and income statement analysis
- Assisting in account reconciliation, when necessary
- Preparing comprehensive monthly financial statements
- Monthly performance forecasting
- Prepare and review loan schedules and management reports
- Leading the annual financial audit, including the preparation of audit schedules
- Assist in the annual budget process, including variance analysis
- Implement and maintain internal controls
- Overseeing, leading, and developing an accounting team
- Other duties as assigned.
Candidates for the controller position should have 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience. An active CPA designation is preferred, but not required.
