Job Details:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Controller to join our dynamic team in the Engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the company. This includes the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements, and ensuring that our accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Controller, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures.
2. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, including month-end and year-end close processes, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll, and utilities.
3. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
4. Preparing timely monthly financial statements and implementing cost accounting methods to track and control costs effectively.
5. Coordinating the preparation of regulatory reporting and managing relationships with external auditors.
6. Guiding financial decisions by applying company policies and managing internal controls.
7. Overseeing project accounting and ensuring the accurate and timely tracking of all costs associated with our engineering projects.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Controller position should possess the following qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 3 years of proven experience as a Controller or similar role in the Engineering industry.
3. Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with cost and project accounting.
4. Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting and all pertinent GAAP, SEC rules and regulations including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
5. Experience in managing an accounting team and proven leadership skills.
6. Strong working knowledge of detailed financial data analysis and forecasting techniques.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to present financial information to a non-financial audience.
8. Proficiency with accounting software, databases, and financial analysis tools.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a high level of integrity and dependability.
