We are currently seeking an experienced and highly-skilled individual for the role of Permanent Controller. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing and managing our company's accounting functions, including establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures. They will also manage the financial close process, financial statements, revenue recognition, internal controls, process improvement, budgeting, payroll, KPIs, audit, tax process, M&A integration, portfolio company, retail business, financial analysis, forecasting, financial reporting, strategic planning, financial accounting, business strategy, and performance management

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.
2. Direct and oversee all aspects of the finance & accounting functions of the organization.
3. Manage the financial close process, ensuring the timely and accurate submission of financial statements.
4. Ensure that company financial reports comply with current accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
5. Implement and manage internal controls, ensuring the company's risk management procedures are followed.
6. Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process.
7. Manage the payroll function ensuring efficient systems, process and controls.
8. Develop and monitor business performance metrics, highlighting the variances and providing actionable information.
9. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
10. Oversee the tax process, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
11. Lead the integration process for M&A activities.
12. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
13. Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
14. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. 5+ years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position.
3. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
4. Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
5. Experience with financial close process, financial statements, revenue recognition, internal controls, process improvement, budgeting, payroll, KPIs, audit, tax process, M&A integration, portfolio company, retail business, financial analysis, forecasting, financial reporting, strategic planning, financial accounting, business strategy, and performance management.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
7. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
9. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
10. Proven strategic planning experience at the management level.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
