Controller- Baltimore, MD
About the Company and Overview of the Controller role:
- CFS is partnering with a fantastic healthcare client. They are an independent non-profit located in the heart of Baltimore City. Currently, they are looking to bring on a Controller to join their medium sized accounting team. For the right candidate, this position can become permanent.
- The company prides itself on being very relaxed, having a family feel, and community oriented. They are in a new office space in Baltimore City with free parking. Very safe area.
- Schedule: 8am-4:30pm M-F. Position is 100% in office in Baltimore city to start. Hybrid work schedule offered after training
- Reports to the CFO
Job Duties of the Controller include:
• Supervision and oversight of day to day accounting operations and month end close activities
• Prepares accounts receivable analysis
• Prepares the monthly journal entries
• Assures that revenue is appropriately billed, inventoried, and revenue is received
• Reviews financial statements and prepares overview of operating performance for Finance Committee
• Oversees payroll tax preparation
• Schedules and reviews grant account activities
• Oversees the annual A-133 financial and compliance audit
Qualifications for the Controller:
- BS in Accounting required, MBA/CPA preferred
- Higher education above a BS can be replaced with 10+ years of relevant work experience
- Healthcare accounting experience highly preferred
- Experience using Navision or NetSuite or another large system a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP required
- Intermediate Excel skills required
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work independently
- Supervisory experience required
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen as well as provide general vaccination records (covid, flu, etc.)
