Posting Number: F Position Title: Continuing, Non-Tenure Track Faculty and Director of Second Degree Nursing Program Position Type: Faculty Location: Villanova, PA Recruitment Type: Internal/External Applicants Work Schedule: full-time/12-months Department: 232-Nursing Position Summary: The Fitzpatrick College of Nursing invites applications for the position of Director, Second-Degree BSN Program for College Graduates (14-month express and 23-month flex tracks). The Director manages all aspects of the program and provides leadership and direction for the program. In conjunction with the Associate Dean for the Undergraduate program, the Director is responsible for assuring the quality of instruction and ongoing development and success of the program. At the M. Duties and Responsibilities: Academic Oversight and Strategic Responsibilities: Collaborate with the administrative team, faculty, and staff and provide leadership in planning, developing, and implementing second degree track curriculum development to ensure FCN program remains at the forefront of cutting-edge baccalaureate nursing education. Provide strategic leadership for the recruitment and enrollment of highly qualified students for the second-degree tracks. Oversight of the implementation of the BSN undergraduate curriculum for second-degree students. Conduct and address course, student, and faculty evaluations through class observations, review of course and teacher surveys and complete annual evaluations for faculty teaching in the second-degree tracks. Cultivate and mentor faculty related to teaching, mentoring, and service. Complete program evaluation annually through the program evaluation plan (PEP). Support the Associate Dean in creation of teaching assignments for the undergraduate curriculum. Participate in orientation of new staff, faculty and students as needed. Develop, review, and oversee implementation of academic policies for the College in collaboration with the Associate Dean, faculty, and other constituents. Collaborate with the administrative team, the FCN Director of Recruitment and Enrollment Management, Director of College Relations, FCN Marketing Team, and the Student Success and Retention Advisor to promote and advance the recruitment, admission and retention of a diverse student body. Nurture an environment of collegiality and transparency and support faculty academic concerns. As able, teach in academic programs. Administrative Responsibilities Serve on FCN and university committees such as: Undergraduate Program meetings, Course Leaders' meetings, Faculty meetings, Academic Standing, etc. Provide information for the annual report to the State Board of Nursing and assure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements related to the second-degree tracks and students. Oversee second-degree recruitment and enrollment management processes. Oversee selection, maintenance and reporting of various scholarships and hardship funding available to second degree track students. Create and submit an Annual Report to the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program and maintain student and faculty data related to NCLEX pass rates, admission, and retention on the second-degree tracks, etc. Support faculty retention and serve on search committees as needed. Regular reviews and monitoring of the budget to ensure financial goals are met. Strategic financial planning to support the growth and sustainability of the second-degree program. Facilitates meetings with faculty and staff of the second-degree track. Work closely with the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program to coordinate schedules for students and faculty. Data/Reporting Responsibilities Distribute, collect, and analyze results of Course and Teacher Surveys (CATS) in collaboration with the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program. Complete Program Evaluation Plan (PEP) variables for internal reporting. Assist with data collection and analysis for external reports, such as: AACN, NLN, etc. Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree. Master's degree in nursing or related field. Bachelor's degree in nursing. Eligibility for RN licensure in Pennsylvania. Minimum of three years' academic administration experience or other significant academic/educational nursing leadership experience. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, collegiality, and the ability to collaborate. The highest standards of personal and professional integrity. An administrative leadership style that is responsive to the needs of faculty, students, and staff. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to lead development and implementation of mission-centered, innovative, cost-effective curricula. Experience retaining and mentoring diverse faculty and students. Experience working with adult or second-degree students. Teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Experience with innovative, evidence-based, and technologically rich teaching strategies.
