As the Construction Services Department Manager, you will play a pivotal role in collaboration with a management team that upholds our company mission and values throughout the organization. Your responsibilities will extend to overseeing the Denver Construction Services Department, cultivating client relationships, driving business development initiatives, and recruitment and retention of construction management, inspection, and materials testing staff. Clients will include the Colorado Department of Transportation, multiple metro Denver Local Agencies, and the Regional Transportation District.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado PE License.
  • Experience on CDOT and/or Local Agency projects.
  • 5 to 10 years of directly related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in CM, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous supervisory and managerial experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community association management industry practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, talent management, and strategic thinking abilities.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership and Planning
  • Lead the team and partner with the Director of Construction Services to strategize department objectives.
  • Ensure project managers and staff deliver high-quality work within specified timelines and budgets, aligning with client requirements and company policies.

Oversight and Mentoring
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to the team in preparing proposals and cost estimates, ensuring proper scoping, staff availability, and pricing.

Daily Operations Management
  • Supervise daily operations, focusing on team safety, staff development, equipment utilization, service quality, timely delivery, and adherence to policies.

Business Development
  • Collaborate with the Director of Construction Services and other team members on business development activities, identifying, developing, and executing project opportunities while building and maintaining client relationships.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • Be a hands-on leader, providing training and mentorship for the team's future leaders.
  • Oversee the construction services department, ensuring efficient and effective operations with a commitment to delivering high-quality services.
  • Manage marketing and business development efforts to promote company growth.
  • Provide administrative and technical management over multiple major projects.
  • Prepare budgets, plan staffing, and monitor activities.
  • Prepare and manage the department's budget, workload, and projections.
  • Design strategies for future development projects based on company objectives.
  • Make determinations regarding contract administration and address discrepancies or problems.
  • Maintain open and productive communications among Management Team members.
  • Prepare and review studies, reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Lead safety efforts for the team and ensure adherence to safety rules.
  • Prepare and oversee complex proposals and cost estimates.
  • Execute short-range business development activities and plan employee recruitment and development.
  • Oversee department metrics, project-related risks, and quality monitoring.
  • Plan and execute strategies for a profitable maintenance and subcontracting business.
  • Play an active role in ensuring department Accounts Receivable collections.
  • Educate teams on company policies, procedures, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Provide motivational mentoring and coaching to support company mission and goals.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities, including hiring, training, and performance appraisal.

Salary Description

$145,600 to $162,240 per year
