Job Description

The Design Project Manager plays a vital role within our client's Construction & Design team, spearheading the Company's North American expansion efforts. This role entails project oversight, client interactions, on-site management, timeline adherence, FF&E procurement, vendor coordination, quality control, and frequent visits to project locations. The Design PM collaborates closely with the Construction PM and Senior Design Managers.

Reports to the Director of Design

Responsibilities:

Contribute to project scheduling, maintain schedule during execution, and provide regular reports.
Assist in developing project budgets and ensure budget adherence throughout execution.
Manage all project phases, from design and budgeting to construction and closeout.
Prepare scope documents for design and budgeting, and facilitate internal/external coordination.
Participate in the selection of architects, contractors, subcontractors, and onboard them as needed.
Lead schematic design development, collaborating with the Design Team and external consultants.
Oversee procurement and material/equipment tracking, coordinating with the Logistics Team.
Maintain communication with the Finance Team regarding vendors' payment schedules.
Monitor and direct the performance of general contractors and subcontractors.
Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and best practices.
Conduct regular kickoff, department review, and executive review meetings for renovation projects.
Serve as a liaison between corporate teams and stores to ensure successful project delivery.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Architecture or Construction Management.
2+ years of general Design & Construction experience; 1+ years in Retail/Restaurant/Hospitality-specific Construction a plus.
Experience managing projects from concept design to project closeout.
Proficiency in technical software, including Revit, Cad, and/or Sketch Up; familiarity with ProjectMates software is advantageous.
Strong project management, time-management, communication, motivation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to learn.
Job Requirements:

Approximately 40% or more travel availability, depending on project status.
