The Role The Project Manager is responsible for all business activities related to Construction Project Management for the Region and/or location. Defines the management, goal definitions, target setting and leadership of the Project Management team and is responsible for the business objectives under this scope of responsibilities. What You Will Do Develop a schedule to be utilized in the preparation of progress billings, ensuring accurate invoicing and timely receipt of payments. Direct the organization and implementation of project continuity. Prepare a reasonable plan of action for building projects, including understanding the estimate, gathering data from subcontractors, outlining the scope of work, and Create and monitor project cost controls and a working budget. Prepare a monthly budget report. Supervise the installation of construction contracts. Maintain communication with Construction Manager regarding contracts. Monitor the job progress and report findings to all involved participants. Oversee the subcontracts and the scope of work for each trade of a particular project. Control and account for all materials and equipment utilized on the project. Coordinate material requirements with the Project Designer and Construction Manager. Responsible for manning and designation of construction crew's composition required for installation and construction contracts. Required to take immediate action on any problems or changes that occur within the project. Identify the cause and effect and take necessary actions to correct problems. Notify the Project Designer and Construction Manager of factors that will impact the installation and construction contracts. Prepare data which reflects actual materials provided and labor expended in the installation of construction contracts. Serve as a first contact for customers. Maintain a safe working environment. Approved weekly constructions services employee timesheets and submit timely to payroll team for weekly payroll processing. This position will require to process, approve and submit timesheets some weekends (typically Sundays) during company and/or bank holidays. All other duties and responsibilities customarily performed by a person holding the same or an equivalent position in corporations of a similar size to the Corporation. Ability to develop and manage a project schedule. Strong customer/client focus. Advanced safety awareness. Capable of identifying risks and issues, reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options for mitigation and implement solutions. Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical is preferred. 7 + years of experience in manufacturing operations of industrial products. This is a preference for experience selling capital goods and services within process oriented (e.g. Oil and Gas, Chemicals) industrial settings. Experience managing multi discipline projects in industrial construction project management or leading "Engineer to Order" and "Configure to Order" Operations with high levels of customer service is a plus. Experience in at least one significant heavy industrial EPC/EPCM project is preferred. Basic knowledge of industry standards such as electrical codes such as the CEC, NEC or certification standards such as CSA, UL, IEC is a plus. Proficiency with project management and accounting tools. Ability to manage cost account management and reporting. Ability to travel 30% mostly domestic visiting job site locations.
