Carries out manual tasks which contribute to the carrying out of the project for their professional specialty (road, pipelines, rail, etc.) in observance of the safety guidelines. Construction Pipe Layer Main Responsibilities Engage in multiple forms of physical labor necessary for completion of assigned projects, including work in trenches and similar environments Assist with locating, avoiding, and protecting existing underground utilities Read and interpret grading instruments (i.e., rulers, grade rods, carpenter levels, lasers, etc.) Read and interpret work plans, including line & grade information Safely operate vehicles, tools and equipment, including, but not limited to on-road vehicles, jack-hammers, air compressors, skid plate tampers, shovels, rakes, brooms, and other hand tools Applying basic knowledge of soil types, trenching, and shoring per OSHA regulations Follow all safety policies and procedures Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks assigned Construction Pipe Layer Skills Knowledge and understanding of a variety of pipe installations including storm pipe, water and sewer Minimum of one year of utility pipe installation preferred Ability to follow proper rigging & lifting procedures for pipe and other materials Construction Pipe Layer Physical Requirements Ability to lift to 50lbs Ability to kneel, bend, stoop, and climb ladders Ability to work in trench boxes, deep excavations, and in confined spaces Ability to work outside in extreme conditions Ability to stand for extended periods Construction Pipe Layer Benefits Our company is not only a phenomenal place to work for, but we also have great benefits too, such as: comprehensive health, dental, vision, 401k match, life insurance, AD&D, Teladoc, health advocate, and many more.
