A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER As a Construction Observer, you follow the progress of designated construction projects as well as ensure compliance with materials and methods. You start at the office reading, reviewing, and becoming familiar with assigned project plans and specifications. You identify areas for which additional information is needed to properly perform your duties and you present those inquiries to the project manager or engineer. Each day, you prepare written reports and communicate all progress to the project manager. When there are abnormalities or concerns, you are quick to report those as well. You regularly conduct site visits according to schedule and observe the project progress, materials, and methods of completing the work. You carefully compare project plans and material specifications to the construction methods and materials being used. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSTRUCTION OBSERVER High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record 2+ years of related experience or training, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as bend, kneel, and squat frequently Ability to regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds Willingness to submit to a background check, drug screening, and motor vehicle report upon hire Do you have the ability to manage your time and tasks efficiently?
