This Opportunity - Construction Engineer/Manager, WPB, Fl WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Engineer/Manager for our West Palm Beach, Fl office. This employee will be involved in projects with our Environment and Infrastructure (E&I) Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Projects may span multiple disciplines, such as Everglades Restoration, Reservoir Construction, Earthwork/Embankment, Water Control Structures, Site Grading, Heavy Civil, Roadway, Sitework, Stormwater Drainage, Specialty Geotechnical construction, etc., in the West Palm Beach, Fl and Greater South Florida Market. Your Roles/Responsibilities Plans, reviews and assigns work of subordinate field or construction field office personnel Reviews construction processes and engineering layouts Reviews project activities with client and contractor's field supervision resolving disputes and other daily issues. Oversees field materials testing activities. Oversees CMT laboratory activities including Soils, and concrete. Reviews and signs/seals/ submits construction materials testing reports relevant to the project they are assigned to. Reviews daily inspection reports and other project documentation. Attends and may lead construction meetings with client and contractors. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by client and company needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering-related field (e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, etc.) or equivalent 5-7 years of directly relevant experience, including Resident Engineer / Construction Manager or related roles (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) on engineering improvement projects valued at $10M and greater. Knowledge of Reservoir construction practices, and understand of geotechnical engineering, and specialty geotechnical construction. Knowledge of USACE construction practices including three-phase quality system, and management/maintenance of USACE validated laboratory. A demonstrated ability to read and completely understand contract documents. A working knowledge of regulations and applicable codes, standards, and materials (e.g. USACE, ASTM, FDOT, Effective oral and written communication skills Valid, current Florida Driver's license Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies Preferred Qualifications Florida Licensed Professional Engineer preferred or EIT with ability to achieve PE within 6 months from hire date.
