The Construction Manager plans, budgets and directs short and long-term electrical generating plant construction, including renewables, and related transmission facilities, in a manner that is safe, cost effective, and timely.

Projects may involve multiple site locations and involve millions in expenditure level. Supports all construction activities associated with new and existing generation projects.

Supports project budget updates, direct oversight of contractors and consultants which support site development and construction activities throughout the projects' lifecycle.

Administers the associated contracts, ensures site compliance with environmental and other permits, regulatory requirements, safety requirements, and quality of the development and construction.

Key business, public and stakeholder relationships and includes interaction with landowners, local, state and government employees, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Coordinates with other departments to complete development and construction tasks.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.

Five years of generating facility or renewable construction management experience, with two years in a senior technical/leadership role in industrial power systems or electric utility power system operations, construction, development or renewable industry related experience; including experience performing highly technical work of a specialized nature with exposure to business/financial and contractual matters.

Demonstrated knowledge of renewable energy industry including financial analysis, contracts and technologies.

Willingness to travel to various sites; at least 50% of job duties will be performed at development or construction sites.

Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation skills.

Effective interpersonal skills and leadership abilities. Effective organization, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Planning and budgeting skills.

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple issues, tasks and projects concurrently.

Knowledge of relevant policy, procedures, laws, and regulations related to construction activities, with the ability to analyze and evaluate complex proposals and submit written comments.

Advanced project management skills with the ability to act as a team leader, enforce contracts, and maintain project timelines, budgets, and deliver on commitments.

The demonstrated ability to lead projects and work with others effectively in a diverse working environment.

Advanced computer skills including competency with spreadsheets, word processors, presentation tools or a demonstrated ability to learn such skills.

Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to communicate complex information accurately and understandably in written and verbal form.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, a customer service focus, and the ability to work both independently or as a member in a team-oriented environment and to recognize when collaboration with or input from others is necessary. This includes the ability to provide instruction, guidance, and information to others.

Ability to read and interpret contracts and complex technical documents.

Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; ability to analyze complex issues and formulate a strategic plan.
