We are responsible for working across all internal teams and engaging external stakeholders to support successfully meeting our goals and reducing wildfire risk in our hometowns. We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment. Position Summary Oversees Civil construction and improvement projects in the distribution electric system. Identifies contract worthy projects, consults on project feasibility and project site details, coordinates with construction crews, oversees project inspectors, and on a project specific basis performs construction oversight. Prepares job packages and construction estimates, conducts job walks, and meets with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies. Ensures projects are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits and schedule. PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. We would not anticipate that the individual hired into this role would land at or near the top half of the range described below, but the decision will be dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable salary range is: Annual Minimum: $97,000.00 Annual Maximum: $154,000.00 Responsibilities: Acts as a first point on contact for multiple internal and external clients and consults with more senior engineers on more difficult issues while ensuring critical needs are met quickly and efficiently. Provides operational input on daily operations planning and scheduling (e.g., work packages, project schedules and resource loading). Acts as a subject matter expert in area of field and applies extensive knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices. Coordinates and leads activities in support of inspections or audits. Ensures all estimates from multiple areas are performed to standards and meet efficiency and accuracy measures within unit costs. Maintains public and employee safety on site at all times by promoting a positive safety culture, exhibiting an absolute commitment to safety for self and others, and by ensuring all applicable safety rules, regulations and standards are followed. Manages daily work activities; reviews and approves priorities and work products. Manages the portfolio of assigned projects and ensures all projects are designed safely and constructed on time, on budget, on scope, and without adverse environmental or regulatory impacts. Obtains commitment on detailed work plans including schedule, cost, resources, contingency and communication plans. Performs field visits as applicable based on the field condition and/or any issues with the information provided from the field. Portfolio size expected to be more than a Career CM and less than an Expert CM. Acts as a subject matter expert in scoping of the underground projects, providing input to proposed 'running line' and potential 'means and methods' of installation for the purpose of design. Qualifications Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience Five (5) years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction Travel approximately 50% with occasional overnight stays. Desired: 7 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction. Knowledge of utility poles Knowledge of various wood species pertaining to utility poles. Demonstrated abilities in cost accounting, Contract administration, and project scheduling Demonstrated abilities in project/program management Inspection and quality control Demonstrated knowledge in Electric Transmission/Distribution Construction.
