Construction IT Manager - In Office - Stratford, CT

Overview:

This position oversees all company-wide IT operations, encompassing strategic planning, infrastructure management, user support, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement the IT Strategic Plan and budget, aligning with the company's overall goals.
    • Collaborate with senior management to create a five-year plan for IT operations.
  • Infrastructure Management:
    • Support and maintain network infrastructure, including servers, workstations, printers, networking hardware, and telephone systems.
    • Ensure the physical security and integrity of hardware and network connections.
  • User Support:
    • Provide first-line technical assistance to employees through a help desk function.
    • Manage and monitor software licenses, patching, and renewal contracts.
  • Security Management:
    • Stay informed about evolving cyber threats and implement appropriate safeguards.
    • Utilize comprehensive security solutions (physical, hardware, and software) to protect the organization's data.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee IT project management tasks, including schedule development and execution.
  • Policy and Procedures:
    • Create and maintain an up-to-date IT policies and procedures manual.
  • Financial Accountability:
    • Regularly review IT expenditures with the CFO and ensure proper coding and approval of all departmental spending.

Additional Considerations:

  • This role requires a deep understanding of various technologies, including network infrastructure, hardware, software, and security principles.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Experience managing IT projects and budgets is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of:
    • Standard Windows applications used in the organization.
    • Cloud computing concepts.
    • Microsoft Networking technologies.
    • Microsoft SQL and database management principles.
    • Antivirus, Malware protection
    • Firewalls
  • Preferred Software experiecne:
    • Timberline, VMWare, Cisco Switches, Meraki Access Points, Citrix Studio/ Workspace, Windows Server Ahsay, VEEAM, S2 Lenel,TimberScan, Create-a-Check., Viewpoint Vista, BMC Track IT, EV Reach, Cisco VPN, HP Nimble SAN, Microsoft SQL Server
