Job DescriptionResponsible for assisting in new construction development. Help repair, and maintain existing plants, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operations manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with Building Construction Projects in Indiana.
- Work with the Superintendent to meet deadlines for construction completion.
- Accurately follow and understand diagrams, blueprints, and verbal/written instructions for plant development.
- Understand assembly instructions and parts that will vary depending on the project.
- Use various hand tools including pneumatic and hydraulic tools to complete tasks.
- Fabricate for new plant development with the use of cutting torch and gas welding equipment.
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, loaders, and other equipment to move materials and assemble larger components.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment inside and outside the shop and project areas.
- Diagnose and repair/replace parts and components on plant equipment. This includes bins, silos, conveyors, belt lines, rollers, bearings, electric/gas motors, gear boxes, gates, fixed ladders and walkways.
- Diagnose and repair problems related to hydraulic, gravity and pneumatic components.
- Service equipment such as grease bearings and other related equipment. Change oil and fluids in motors, transmissions and gear box assemblies.
- All other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements- High School diploma or the equivalent. Two to three years related experience and/or training at a technical school or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Welding, equipment, and tool operation experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Valid driver's license, Class A or B CDL preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The position requires walking, bending, crawling, climbing, overhead reaching, crouching, kneeling, balance, and pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
