Concrete Materials Technician

Job Description

Location: Rock Island, IL

Inspects and tests materials and products, for conformance to specifications by performing the duties described herein.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Performs weekly audits on finished concrete products by paying attention to height, shape, color and consistency with the use of comparison samples, testing instruments and visual inspections.

Records and maintains all testing data to ensure all products are made in accordance with company requirements and industry standards.

Analyses data for trends and areas of improvement.

Operates lab testing equipment to perform quality tests on incoming raw materials and finished concrete products.

Operates a concrete saw to obtain sample coupons used in various lab tests.

Works alongside production teams to ensure that all in process testing is performed properly and meeting the company standards.

Performs in process testing and work alongside production teams.

Send materials to external labs and track results.

Work with vendors for equipment calibrations and purchasing.

Tracks customer complaints and communicates issues to the production team.

Communicates results of inspections and testing to the supervisor and production personnel daily.

Sampling of sand and stone for conformance.

Adheres to established policies and procedures paying special attention to safety regulations.

Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
