We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Computer Instrument Technician in our Oak Creek, Wisconsin location.

Job Summary

Design, install, test, calibrate, tune, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot the process control instrumentation, support related computer-based control, data acquisition equipment, and the various system utilized for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of a power plant. Responsibilities also include providing technical support and coordination to plant chemical, maintenance, electric, and operations groups.

Job Responsibilities

The Computer Instrument Technician performs the following duties:


  • Troubleshooting, testing, calibrating, repairing, installing, tuning, and otherwise maintaining various process control instrumentation devices and systems utilized for the safe, efficient and reliable operation of fossil fueled power plants
  • The Computer Instrument Technician provides technical support related to power plant computer-based control and data acquisition equipment, including the development and modification of the computer systems application programs, operator function, graphic displays, documentation and data base parameters
  • Resolving day-to-day system problems
  • Ensuring system, software, data and backup security; reviewing and monitoring the operating status of equipment
  • Aiding engineers with equipment performance calculation programs
  • Also assists engineering personnel with special tests and projects and performs other miscellaneous or special duties as required and/or assigned
  • Will require the use of a respirator in certain situations
Minimum Experience Required

Applicant must have a two-year associate degree in electronics, process controls, instrumentation, or power generation technology


OR


Have completed equivalent education as demonstrated by two years of accredited post-secondary education with sufficient and relevant course concentrations in the field of electrical, electronic, or instrument technology.


Applicant must have a valid driver's license and meet the company's requirements for driving.
