Composites Technician

As Composite Technician, you will be responsible for finishing composite parts for medical components including part preparation, surface preparation, and polishing.

Responsibilities May Include:

• Finishing carbon fiber surface from a mold

• Part preparation - sanding with multiple grits to produce a base surface

• Application of an epoxy resin

• Finish sanding and polishing

• Ply Cutting

• Gel Coating

• Composite Client-up

• Trim/Finish of parts

• Perform other job related duties as assigned

• Ability to read and to interpret standard operation procedures, work instructions, and drawings

• Ability to distinguish between acceptable and unacceptable parts

• Working with minimal supervision

Experience/Education:

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Prior finishing (sanding and polishing) experience a plus

Training Requirements:

• Composite Finishing

• Quality System

• Ply Cutting and Press Cutter Maintenance

• Gel Coater and Chopper Gun Operation/Maintenance

• Time Input Management
