Composite/Plastic Inspector Leader with Security Clearance

Duties Lead a team of trades and/or labor workers Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the crew led Inspect all composite or plastic parts, assemblies, sub-assemblies or structures with straight and curved surfaces that have a number of interconnecting parts and components that have been repaired, modified or overhauled Conduct and witness inspections and tests on a variety of fabricated and repair work performed by others on structural and nonstructural airframe components, equipment, and completed airframes affecting Low Observable (LO) coatings and related components Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship Required Males must be registered for Selective Service, see A security clearance may be required If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3400 Pliable Material Work Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Physical Efforts: Work encompasses standing, bending, stooping, stretching and working in strained cramped conditions. Frequently handles, lifts, and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionaly lifts and moves heavier items with assistance from others or with weight lifting equipment. May be required to uncrate or load and move metal/composite parts and other repair items. Working Conditions: Works both inside and outside and is subjected to noise and vibration from shop machines, high temperatures from curing ovens and heat lamps and to a variety of weather conditions. Work conditions frequently include exposure to dust, fumes and toxic and/or potentially flammable and explosive chemicals that can cause skin, eye, and lung irritations. Employee could also be exposed to injury while operating machines and power tools. Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing duties. Education This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
