Reviews, monitors and ensures safety datasheets (SDS) are compliant through F(N)ST procedures, state, federal, TSCA and REACH (HMIS and GHS) for all North American Components sites in close cooperation with the corresponding position in EU (Germany) for rubber and plastic compounds, pretreatment and treatment materials and raw material ingredients. Develops, monitors and maintains compliance policies and procedures to standardize and align all Components sites in NA (incl. Mexico) in cooperation with the corporate compliance teams within T&I, both Plymouth and Weinheim. Implements, aligns and maintains compliance for all Components sites to FSS 2 and FSS 7 standards. Retains reference data as it pertains to chemical compliance. Topical CRC understandings change daily and require associates to be able to apply new knowledge to the current compliance environment. Identifies gaps in the area of chemical compliance and work out proposals to close the gaps (in alignment with the corresponding EU position). Supports development of alternate materials (rubber & plastics) for risk management (incl. industrialization process starting with ElaDB (database) to ERP system) Supports and performs material compliance testing and ensures chemical compliance. Reviews all chemicals and prepares documentation for pre-weigh shipments to F(N)ST sites (TSCA) and export and import of chemicals in close cooperation with corresponding position in EU (Weinheim). Assists FNST Malaysia (MRO) on ElaDB (information on compounds, ingredients and contracts) Qualificationsarrow right Batchelor s degree in Chemistry with at least one year experience in a laboratory environment or equivalent is required (Master s preferred; preferred focus on environmental chemistry, toxicology, and/or product stewardship) 3+ years' experience in chemical and material compliance. Must have proven problem-solving ability. Identify and assess inconsistencies in compliance policies and procedures. Create, administer, coordinate and align division wide standards for risk management and compliance. Requires up to 15% travel to other Components Division sites. Ability to function effectively in a team environment with widely diverse organizational functions is required. Ability to understand technical terminology required. Must be able to analyze policies and procedures, facilitate, train, coordinate and ensure compliance to aforementioned policies and procedures across business groups. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office and be able to quickly learn new tracking software.
