Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Is aware of department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (eg. Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste and abuse. Brings any questions or concerns regarding compliance to the immediate attention of department or administrative staff. Purposefully conducts all aspects of the job in an ethical manner in support of the organization's commitment to ethical behavior in all areas of personal and professional activity. Participates in planning, implementing, and evaluating programming within the CBS Services. Completes psychiatric and functional assessments, identifying strengths and needs. Develops with consumer measurable goals and establishes service plans based on consumer needs and desires. Provides psychological/supportive counseling with consumers/clients and their families on site or in the community. Provides skills training in the areas of social, leisure, vocational, interpersonal and community living. Recognizes early symptoms of physical and mental illness, and performs appropriate interventions and/or referrals in accordance of an identified crisis plan. Recognizes and reports the therapeutic actions and side effects of medications. Consults with other community agencies and significant others involved with consumers/clients to live in the least restrictive setting. Advocates for consumer/client rights and choices in obtaining needed services. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory sessions and in-services. Demonstrates a positive cooperative attitude, flexibility, and a willingness to change to meet department goals. Performs additional duties as may be assigned to ensure complete service to all customers. Qualifications PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS Education Must have a high school diploma or equivalency. Qualifications/Experience Experience preferred but not required. Valid Iowa Driver's license required.
