The Position Position Requirements The Community Health Assistant performs independent home, office, and/or clinic visits to clients within Public Health Programs in the Health and Human Services Agency, such as Maternal-Child Health and Communicable Disease as well as manages an independent caseload of clients. Such duties may entail carrying a caseload of clients with high-risk pregnancies and parenting caregivers; as well as translating and assisting the public health nursing staff in the delivery of public health services to clients at home visits and/or clinics; and assisting clients in accessing public health services. Bilingual Spanish skills are required. Experience and Education: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Experience: One year of responsible experience equivalent to a Community Aide in the Napa County Health and Human Services Agency or in a related health agency or institution. Prior experience working in the specific health program assignment is highly desired. Education: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. (Additional qualifying experience can be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.) License or Certificate: Possession of a valid California Driver's License. Possession of, or ability to obtain prior to completion of probationary period, valid CPR certificate. Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e., active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position. This recruitment is being conducted to fill 1 (one) full-time vacancy. The list established by this recruitment may also be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies for up to one year. Supplemental questions will be scored by subject matter experts. The most qualified applicants from the scoring of the supplemental questions will be invited for an Oral Panel Interview. Oral Panel Interview Tentatively scheduled for the week of May 13, 2024. Bilingual Skills Examination Tentatively scheduled for the week of May 20, 2024 Candidates who pass the oral panel interview will be invited to take oral and written bilingual skills examination. Establish Eligible List Tentatively scheduled for the week of June 17, 2024. Candidates who pass the bilingual examination will be placed on the eligibility list and may be considered for current and future vacancies for this position for up to one year.
