•Dependent care assistance program CLASSIFICATION: To Be Determined TITLE: Community Connections Coordinator REPORTS TO: Director of Communications POSITION SUMMARY The Community Connections Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining and building positive relationships between our school district and the local community. The Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to engage community members, organizations, and businesses in supporting and enhancing our educational programs. This includes overseeing District and community partnerships, facilitating service learning and volunteer opportunities, and providing support for students and families from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the position provides support to the Monroe Public Schools Foundation and serves as the liaison connecting the District and the Foundation. Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in education, communication, community development, or a related field. Proven experience in community engagement, partnership development, or a similar role. Special Requirements Successful Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint clearance I-9 employment eligibility in compliance with the Immigrations Reform and Control Act HIV/HBV training (obtain within 60 days of hire date - District provided) Human Resources new hire training (obtain within 60 days of hire date - District provided) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Organizational, project management, and event planning skills Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders Experience with and sensitivity to issues of equity and diversity Excellent organizational skills, with a demonstrated record of competing projects accurately Knowledge of public schools, their staffs and students, and programs to promote academic, personal and occupational success and achievement Knowledge of community college and post-secondary resources, both public and private sector, designed to promote the development and attainment of life-long learning Knowledge of community resources, agencies, and organizations that promote public schools and students Knowledge of not-for-profit organizations, their function, and operations. Ability to provide leadership to students and staff Ability to work independently Ability to take initiative Maintain regular and punctual attendance strong communication, networking, and organizational skills. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Community Outreach: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community groups, non-profits, businesses, and government agencies. Act as a liaison between the school and the community, facilitating communication, engagement, and collaboration. Partnership Development: Identify and cultivate community partnerships that align with the educational goals and values of the District. Collaborate with community organizations to maintain and develop mutually beneficial programs and initiatives. Event Planning: Organize and coordinate events to support students and promote family and community engagement, such as resource fairs, scholarship award ceremonies, charitable giving campaigns, and information sessions. Ensure seamless execution of events, from planning to post-event evaluation. Communication: Support the district and school communication plans to keep the community informed about programs, initiatives, activities, achievements, and opportunities. Resource Mobilization: Identify and secure funding opportunities, such as grants, scholarships, and donations, to support student needs and the District's educational programs. Work closely with the Monroe Public Schools Foundation to secure financial support from community partners. Procure community scholarship opportunities for students and support students in successfully gaining community scholarships. Collaboration with Educators: Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate community resources into classrooms. Facilitate partnerships (volunteer opportunities, service learning, internships, etc) that enhance the educational experience for students.
