Our Research and Development Client located in Lexington is looking for an experienced Communications System Engineer to work onsite 3 days and from home 2 days per week. The main priority of this role is to develop and validate signal processing communication functions.


Other responsibilities include:

  • On-site laboratory activities each week
  • Prototype development, testing and debugging

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for this)
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related scientific/engineering field
  • Proficiency in C development, including coding, debugging, and testing
  • Proficiency in Verilog and/or VHDL/HDL
  • Experience designing software for real-time and near-real-time software executing Physical-layer signal processing of digital communication receivers (e.g. demodulation, equalization, decoding)
  • Familiarity with design principles for digital communication systems
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills including collaborating with other on-site and/or remote technical team members, preparing and sharing technical results with others, and documenting work to aid other team members and activities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active U.S. Government Security Clearance
  • Experience developing software for 5G NR Physical layer (e.g. using software packages such as srsRAN)
  • Hands-on experience with operating EttNI software defined radios
  • Proficiency in MATLAB
  • Python programming
  • Proficiency in scientific programming for GPU architectures
  • Master s degree or PhD
