Communications and Content Coordinator

Marketing and Communications

Full-time, non-exempt

Reports to: Director of Communications

Hourly range: $22-25/hour, 37.5 hours/week


VLGS Benefits and PTO include:

Position Summary:


The Communications and Content Coordinator provides clear, accurate, and responsive communications support and messaging across a variety of platforms for Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS). The Communications and Content Coordinator will create content that informs and engages several internal and external audiences, including prospective students, alumni, staff, faculty, current students, community members, and other stakeholders. The Communications and Content Coordinator position reports to and is evaluated by the Director of Communications and works in collaboration with colleagues throughout the campus.


Essential Functions and Principal Accountabilities:

  • Write and edit content for marketing emails, newsletters, blog posts, student and alumni profiles, and other materials as needed, while implementing search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and adhering to VLGS brand guidelines.
  • Work with the Admissions team to promote webinars and events to prospective students.
  • Review and edit event materials, such as flyers, programs, social media graphics, etc.
  • Manage and expand email subscriber and outreach lists.
  • Update campus-wide editorial calendar.
  • Make content updates to the VLGS website.
  • Ensure brand tone/voice and consistency across marketing and communications collateral.
  • Report on analytics for VLGS email marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Assist with photo shoots, video projects, and on-campus events as needed.
Requirements:

Required Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience and two or more years of experience in communications, journalism, marketing, and/or copywriting.
  • Proven track record in writing persuasive, clear, and concise stories for a diverse range of audiences.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, manage time effectively, establish priorities, and communicate expectations to stakeholders.
  • Ability to carefully identify challenges and address issues cooperatively and in a collaborative fashion.
  • Experience with Salesforce/Pardot, or another customer relationship management (CRM) platform.
  • Proficiency in an MS-Windows based environment.
  • Ability to adapt to new and emerging technology as established and communicated by the school.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of AP and Chicago style guides.
  • Knowledge working with WordPress.
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with basic graphic design elements through Adobe Creative Cloud and/or Canva.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines and reorganize under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must be able to work legally within the United States without sponsorship.
  • Physical ability to perform all essential functions of the job with or without basic accommodations.
