Your responsibilities will encompass planning, coordinating field commissioning activities, managing budgets, addressing deficiencies, and engaging with internal and external stakeholders
This role demands a meticulous focus on meeting project team needs while ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities: - Coordinate field commissioning activities for projects of varying scale, employing either 3rd Party Specialized Contractors or internal Technicians.
- Offer expertise to project teams in crafting comprehensive commissioning and start-up plans, encompassing resource allocation, cost estimates, scheduling, and critical path analysis.
- Ensure that commissioning activities align with safety protocols and project parameters, effectively managing scope, schedule, cost, and quality expectations.
- Address and resolve issues identified during the commissioning phase, leveraging technical acumen to achieve successful outcomes.
- Facilitate the seamless transition of newly constructed assets to an energized, safe, and reliable operational state.
- Secure, review, and archive essential equipment testing records necessary for operational longevity.
- Mentor and advise junior Commissioning Coordinators and contractors.
- Develop and manage project budgets for commissioning and startup services.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Commissioning Processes and Procedures, contributing to their enhancement and refinement.
- Oversee equipment turnover from Construction to Commissioning, conducting thorough walkthroughs and tracking deficiencies.
- Ensure the compilation and utilization of comprehensive commissioning specifications, including vendor/manufacturer manuals.
Stakeholder Engagement: - Collaborate effectively with functional stakeholders across Project Engineering, Service Delivery, Control Centre Operations, SCADA, PLC & Automation, IT/Data Communications, Fiscal Measurement, Field Operations, Construction Inspection & Testing, and Field execution specialty contractors.
Scope/Dimensions: - Your technical decisions and strategies concerning standards, regulatory compliance, and adherence to engineered designs directly impact pipeline integrity, safety, and long-term asset operations.
- You bear strategic responsibility for fostering productive relationships and performance among field services contractors.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Preferably possess a technical school diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering Technology; other combinations of trade and technical education and experience will be considered.
- Possess a minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in construction and commissioning within the industrial sector.
- Demonstrate a technical understanding of design and construction codes such as NEC, CEC, CSA Z662, AEUB, NEB, etc.
- Exhibit highly effective interpersonal skills with a track record of independently leading and coordinating diverse groups and stakeholders.
