Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Provide expert tax advice to clients on complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, joint ventures, and leasing.
2. Conduct thorough tax research, planning, and structuring for various commercial real estate deals.
3. Review and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure compliance and minimize tax liabilities.
4. Draft and review legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to commercial real estate transactions.
5. Represent clients in tax audits, disputes, and litigation, negotiating with tax authorities on their behalf.
6. Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and financial advisors to develop effective tax strategies.
7. Stay abreast of the latest developments in commercial real estate tax law and advise clients accordingly.
8. Participate in business development activities, including networking events, seminars, and conferences.

Qualifications:

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
2. A Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation or equivalent is strongly preferred.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial real estate tax law.
4. Membership in good standing with a state bar association.
5. Demonstrable experience in handling complex commercial real estate transactions.
6. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations related to commercial real estate.
7. Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
8. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and concise manner.
9. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
