Duties The primary purpose of this position is: as an Air Reserve Technician (ART), to serve as command post controller and carry out all functions associated with command post operations for airlift/rescue/fighter/special operations unit. Drug test requirement Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays Shift work and emergency overtime may be required Employee must maintain current certifications Disclosure of Political Appointments AFSC: 1C3X1 Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Series 0301 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (or higher) GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of and skill in applying an extensive body of command post regulations, methods, and procedures, to perform a wide variety of command post assignments and to handle a wide range of situations, make arrangements, provide advice, that requires authoritative procedural knowledge of various C2 regulations/procedures; (2) Knowledge of support organizations and interrelationships among those programs;(3) Knowledge of SORTS directives/instructions and ability to correlate and analyze a variety of SORTS and other operational reports data and processes. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of command and control, operational reporting, mission monitoring, and emergency actions. 2. Knowledge of security instructions, practices, and procedures. 3. Knowledge and ability to research, collect, analyze, organize and prepare data for reports and presentations. 4. Knowledge of federal and civilian disaster response agencies, their capabilities and relationships with the military. 5. Capability and skill to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. FEDERALTIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements. OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS: Performs other related duties as assigned. 1. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) enlisted position. The incumbent is required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Work schedule will be aligned to allow incumbent to fully participate in unit training assemblies. Regular assignments are primarily ART duties; however, may also be assigned some non ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities. 2. May be required to fly in commercial or military aircraft for performance of TDY. 3. Must gain and retain certification IAW AFI 10-207 as supplemented. 4. May be required to work shift work or uncommon tours of duty with limited/no notice. 5. Position works in a high stress environment, requiring rapid response decisions. 6. This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program, AFM 44-198. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are eligible for 15 days active duty tour each year for which military leave is granted with full civilian pay. Air Reserve units and members; are subject to immediate call to active duty in mobilization to meet a national emergency. Individuals selected for ART positions must meet both civilian qualifications and uniformed military requirements.
