Combined Cycle Operator with Security Clearance

Duration: 6+ Months Must have at least 4 years of power plant experience working with gas turbines, steam turbines, auxiliary boilers ad diesel generators. Must be experienced in equipment diagnosis, problem-solving and troubleshooting. Job Description General Statement of Duties This position is responsible for the total operation of the plant and is accountable for all activities performed within the premises of the plant during the shift. Provides assistance and direction to other personnel as appropriate. Also performs the duties of the combined cycle operator. Typical Duties:

The requirements listed below are representative of, but not limited to, the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the job. 1. Performs all work in a safe manner. Complies with all applicable safety rules, regulations and procedures. Performs all work that they are qualified and trained to do in a manner to protect themselves, their fellow employees and the public from injury. 2. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility including gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, auxiliary boiler, diesel generator and associated equipment. 3. Operates the plant equipment from the distribution control system as well as from local controls when conditions dictate. Collects data and maintains a comprehensive log of routine and nonroutine events occurring during the shift. Reviews operational data such as reports, log sheets and chemistry data. 4. Provides technical assistance and assists in equipment diagnosis and problem solving. 5. Directs the activities of combined cycle operators and maintenance personnel as assigned to support the requirements of the facility. 6. Coordinates with maintenance personnel on activities within the plant. Communicates and interfaces with vendors, visitors, other company employees and regulatory agents. 7. Conducts periodic inspection tours of the facility and writes work orders when defects or problems are noted. Performs minor maintenance when appropriate and assists the maintenance department during outages. 8. Accountable for the execution of the lockout/tagout procedures. Issues permits when necessary. Performs confined space entry supervisor, attendant or entrant duties as required. 9. Responsible for the completion of special tasks and project assigned by the operations manager or unit manager. 10. Leads, trains and instructs other employees in their work.
