Job Duties of the Collections Specialist:

As a Collections Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our company by:

  • Monitoring Aging Reports: Proactively monitor aging reports to identify past due accounts and initiate appropriate collection actions as a Collections Specialist.
  • Working with Customers: Collaborate with customers to collect on past due payments, maintaining professionalism and rapport to facilitate successful resolution as a Collections Specialist.
  • Setting Up Payment Plans: Assess individual customer situations and establish payment plans as needed, demonstrating flexibility and understanding while adhering to company policies as a Collections Specialist.
  • Processing Payments: As a Collections Specialist, I handle payment processing efficiently and accurately, ensuring the proper application of payments received.
  • Ad Hoc Assignments: Undertake ad hoc assignments as needed, demonstrating adaptability and willingness to support team objectives as a Collections Specialist.

Job Requirements for the Collections Specialist:

To excel in this role as a Collections Specialist, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • 2-3+ Years of Recent Collections Experience: Demonstrate a solid background in collections, with at least 2-3 years of recent experience, enabling you to navigate collection processes and procedures as a Collections Specialist effectively.
  • Essential to Intermediate MS Excel Skills: Possess basic to intermediate proficiency in MS Excel, allowing you to analyze data and generate reports to support collection efforts as a Collections Specialist.
  • Experience in Great Plains: Experience with Great Plains is a plus, showcasing your familiarity with accounting software commonly used in collections processes as a Collections Specialist.
  • Experience in Ascend: Experience with Ascend is also a plus, demonstrating your ability to effectively adapt to and utilize specialized software systems as a Collections Specialist.
