BBSI is currently accepting applications for Cold Etch Operators for our aerospace manufacturing client in SE Portland.

Cold Etch Operators chemically clean castings prior to inspection and reworking. They work with alkaline baths, cold etch baths, and hot wager washes to accurately clean and prepare parts for the inspection process. They are responisble for maintaining the chemical cleaning tanks and mixtures. Day to day, these individuals are responsible for tasks such as:
•  Testing and correcting chemical baths to ensure conformance to process control specifications.
•  Submerging parts in chemical tanks for cleaning.
•  Following specific cleaning procedures for each part.
•  Completing and maintaining logs and records for each part, including chemical levels, etc rates, chemical bath additions, and lot numbers. Training is provided on-the-job, including Hazardous Chemical Safety Training and hazardous waste management training. We're seeking individuals with skills and experience such as:
•  Experience in chemical etching operations.
•  Basic understanding of chemistry.
•  Basic math skills and the ability to perform math calculations related to volume and etch rates.
•  Ability to read, write, interpret, and follow instructions.
•  Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. This position does require the ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes and other elements for extended periods of time.
