Description:

Are you passionate about research and excited about new technologies? We are looking for a reliable R&D Coating Technician to join our Cathode team. As a technician on our team, you'll help support delivering new, critical cathode R&D solutions for QuantumScape solid-state battery tacking exciting materials challenges.

Responsibilities:
  • Handle air sensitive materials in glovebox/ dry room/ fume hood with proper PPE
  • Operate milling, heat treatment, coating, laminating, and press equipment with full attention to SOP details, including setup cleanup and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with engineers and other technicians to maintain a reliable process.
  • Prepare, weight, package, document samples for materials test.
  • Shift (Alt Wed) Thurs-Sat 6:30pm - 6:30am
  • Shift(Alt Wed) Sun-Tues 6:30pm - 6:30am

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma with 6+ years of experience in a R&D laboratory or manufacturing environments,
  • Ability to perform work in a dry room and glove box that requires using equipment for extended periods of time, standing, reaching and twisting motions with hands, and lifting up to 25lbs.
  • Attention to details; follow procedures to efficiently run equipment and handle chemicals safely.
  • Adapt to constantly evolving processes
  • Clear Written and verbal skills to logically communicate observations and thought processes
  • Willing to work overtime on short notice
  • Basic computer skills to accurately record and analyze data.

Nice to Haves:
  • Familiar with milling or gravure coating techniques and procedures
  • Familiar with analytical tools and techniques (impurities analysis, microscopy, thickness measurements, particle size analyzer etc)

This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.

Compensation & Benefits: The hourly range for this role is between $26.88 and $40.96, and a final hourly rate will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
