Job Description The Coating Preparation Associate compounds all slurries needed within the quality specifications and batch sheet requirements, doing so in a safe manner with attention to all SDS instructions. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Make down production and trial coatings and assist in all trials Follow batch sheets, perform quality control testing, and confirm process orders Lift and load 50 bags, maneuver 500 drums and make frequent trips up and down stairs Control mixing times and temperatures according to production specs Plan work load, troubleshoot and solve process problems Receive incoming materials and ship outgoing amterials Receive tanks of capsules, resin, etc. and check materials in accordance with specs Monitor the flow of production wastewater to equalization tank to sewer system, withdraw and test samples Conduct and maintain control of physical inventory of raw materials Follow SDS instructions for each chemical used Perform general maintenance and generate work orders, as needed Report operational problems to area supervision Troubleshoot and solve process problems Keep the surrounding work area clean and neat at all times Other duties as assigned Qualifications Must have valid driver's license and maintain PIT (forklift) certification Learn and understand all products and procedures Good communication and organizational skills Basic computer entry and basic math skills Ensure that QMS document training is complete, current and followed Follow all JHA's and review any new JHA's Follow and adhere to all work practices, operating, standard, and make-ready procedures Comply with all safety rules and regulations, report any problems or unsafe conditions and wear all safety equipment as required Must be able to work indepedently and as a team member Additional Information Incumbent will be expected to train in additional roles and perform satisfactorily any qualified job assignments within the Fremont facility. High school diploma/GED required
