Summer Break Camp 2024 (Monday through Friday: 7am - 6pm)

Job Summary

The CIT is a mature rising 5th grade camper that serves as a camper with responsibilities and assists Staff & Coaches. An excellent CIT is responsible, can follow through with their commitment, loves working with and helping other kids, is athletic and / or creative and wants to make friends with other kids their age. Not all CIT who apply will be accepted. Once accepted, they must be registered as a camper and they will be charged reduced tuition. The CIT will pay for all field trips and will not be a chaperone. CITs earn Bright Futures Scholarship hours and Community Service during summer break. CITs receive special recognition throughout the summer and awards. CIT need to be patient and authoritative, empathetic, and regimented. The best CITs are natural helpers who lead by example. They are physically fit, talented, and highly motivated - with a can-do disposition that prompts campers to participate and perform above their own expectation levels. Leadership has the right to move the CIT down to a camper only status if the CIT is having a difficult time with responsibilities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend mandatory Orientation and scheduled meetings.
  • Assist with classroom activities in groups of 15-20 VPK-8th Grade students, while Staff Coach teaches campers Sports and/or STEAM.
  • Review lesson plans developed by Victory Administration.
  • Support the development of group and teamwork, leadership, anti-bullying, etc. to assist campers in successful transition socially, emotionally, and academically.
  • Attend camp regularly.
  • Document hours on your cell phone via Victory Administration's Quickbooks time app or kiosk check in procedure.
Qualifications
  • Comfortable speaking in front of large groups.
  • Able to clearly communicate with Staff Coaches and Victory Administration.
  • Ability to follow direction
  • Well-versed in academics / athletics / creative arts.
  • Prepared to enthusiastically assist with a wide range of Sports & STEAM activities.
  • Strong sense of fair play and inclination against favoritism.
  • Able to work with a diverse group of students with varied academic & athletic interests.
  • Transportation to the site
Attendance and Punctuality

Attendance is an essential job function. This position requires applicant to arrive on time for camp and stay until camp is complete. Ideal shift is 8:30a-4:30p

Physical Requirements

Must have the ability to assist in lifting moderately heavy objects up to 25lbs. and perform duties requiring extensive maneuverability and normal strength.

Must also be prepared to run, jump and participate in physical activity.

Equipment

Duties will require the regular use of mobile devices, computers and other electronics. Must have access to transportation. Must be able to pass a background check.

This position is not considered an employee of Victory. A CIT is a camp participant/volunteer that receives reduced tuition and volunteer hours in exchange for their participation.
