Job description:

CNC Technician at our client in Conyers, GA. As a CNC Technician, you will produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information
1st shift, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Essential Functions
Read and interpret blueprint designs of the product to be manufactured and set machine to produce product/components to customer specification
Read and interpret job traveler and enter correct information into ERP system
Load CNC fixtures into machines and set up 3-axis and 5-axis router to manufacture parts
Measure first piece and submit report to Quality department to obtain permission to run production
Program router by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation and conditional switches, calculating requirements including basic math, geometry, trigonometry, proving part programs
Periodically check CNC machine to ensure positioning of drill stay perfectly aligned
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
Maintain equipment through preventative maintenance; following manufacturers instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
Follow all safety policies, procedures and programs
Responsible for individual safety and safety of others
Establish and maintain company housekeeping standards
Abides by the policies, procedures, and work rules established by the plant
Perform other tasks as assigned

Work Environment or Working Conditions
Normal work hours with occasional, optional, as well as mandatory overtime necessary to meet deadlines
Normal office and manufacturing plant environment which may include exposure to dust, and both hot and cold conditions

This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
Capable of wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) necessary to comply with government and company safety standards
Ability to stand, bend, twist, grip, and lift up to 50 pounds

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED

General Requirements
Ability to read technical manuals/blueprints/drawings
Methodical/analytical problem solving skills, and strong mechanical aptitude
Strong organizational/follow-up skills; attention to detail
Ability to work well with limited supervision
Professional presentation and attitude

Preferred Requirements
Certificate or 2-year technical degree in Machine Technology, Precision Machining, or CNC Operations
Previous experience with 3-axis and 5-axis CNCs
