This is a 1st shift opportunity in the Milling Department and involves performing a series of complex machine operations. Typical job runs are 1-10 parts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Program, setup and run Kunzmann CNC machines with Heidenhain Control.
  • Setup and run CNC Vertical Machining Center -DMG 103-V.
  • Retrieve CNC programs and load to the machine.
  • Edit in G-code and manually program using Heidenhain Control.
  • Setup fixturing and come up with your own set ups on machine.
  • Perform first piece and in-process quality inspections.
  • Setup cutters in holders and adjust height and length.
  • Read drawings/prints to identify operations, specification, and tolerances.
  • Meet precise tolerances and finishing requirements.
  • Use various hand tools to finish parts and check.
  • Use measuring devices like micrometers and calipers to ensure specifications are met.
  • Perform operator maintenance tasks like oiling, greasing, and cleaning the machine (5S).
  • Use forklift or crane to store and retrieve fixturing and other essential equipment.
  • Operate other machines in the department as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma required. Advanced education or apprenticeship preferred.
  • 3-5 years of CNC experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in editing G-Code and manual programming preferred.
  • Strong math skills and the ability to work from detailed and involved part drawings and specifications to perform operations to the capacity of the machine and controls are also essential.
  • Willingness to move between work centers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to lift heavy weights, bend, stoop and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to work in various conditions such as extreme heat and noise level.
