CNC Lathe Machinist

Family owned machining / fabrication shop (70 employees) looking to ADD to their CNC Machining team. 1st shift opening. Flexible on hourly rate. Cadillac health benefits. JOB DESCRIPTION CNC MACHINIST CNC LATHE (large Hyundai) REPORTS TO: MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR MACHINE SHOP DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Be fully knowledgeable of workholding techniques of turning work utilizing a horizontal CNC turning machine including boring, drilling, tapping, threading and polishing. Be familiar with different alloy materials and the tooling, speeds and feeds required for machining the different alloys. Possess the math skills to calculate angles, diameters and any other equations required to accomplish close tolerance machining tasks. Be able to perform offsets and minor program revisions as required. Be able to read and understand complex blueprints and written work orders that accompany every job. Be able to fill out daily time slips accurately for labor reporting purposes. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times. Do routine oiling and/or lubrication as instructed by supervisor / maintenance. Responsible for machining parts within the routed time frame, or notifying the supervisor if the workorder time and/or sequence of operation on the workorder is incorrect. Have own tools that accommodate set-up, deburring, tool changing and measuring for all phases of operation. On occasion other job duties as assigned by your supervisor. Be proficient in the use of over head cranes.
