Position Summary:
We are actively seeking experienced CNC Horizontal & Vertical Operators for a contract to hire positions. The successful candidates will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC horizontal and vertical machining centers to fabricate metallic and nonmetallic parts. This role is essential for maintaining the high-quality standards of our client's precision-machined components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC horizontal and vertical machining centers, ensuring parts are machined to the specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining methods and sequences.
- Mount, install, align, and secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and workpieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
- Adjust machine controls and change tool settings to keep dimensions within specified tolerances.
- Inspect finished workpieces for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Troubleshoot machining problems and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a CNC Operator, specifically with horizontal and vertical machining centers.
- Strong understanding of CNC machine setup, operation, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC operation or related field is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
