Position Summary: Provides visual and cardiac monitoring for telemetry patients. Attends nursing station and performs clerical and reception duties. Requisitions supplies, equipment, and services as directed. Provides nursing care to patients under direct supervision. Position Qualifications: Minimum Education: High school or equivalent Minimum Experience: On-the-job training following successful completion of telemetry monitor class Preferred Education: Post high school vocational/specialized training Preferred Education: Completion of course for unit secretaries and medical terminology Required Certification/Registration Current WV C.N.A. certification American Heart Assoc. BLS course Obtain WV Cares Clearance CPI certification required after 90 days of employment or prior to working secondary job role. Skills: Administrative: Answers telephones Maintains logs Maintains patient charts Must be able to interpret 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree AV block Must be able to interpret A fib, A flutter, V tach, V fib Must be able to interpret Nodal/Junctional rhythms Must be able to interpret SR,SA,SB, ST Skills: Machine Calculator Fax machine Photocopier Typewriter Personal computer, word processing Physical Demands: Mostly sedentary work Occasional prolonged standing/walking Lifts supplies/equipment Working Conditions: Regularly exposed to the risk of bloodborne diseases Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances Exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries and illness) Subject to varying and unpredictable situations Handles emergency or crisis situations May perform emergency care Subject to long irregular hours Pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries Position Summary: Provides visual and cardiac monitoring for telemetry patients.
