You will enjoy: Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Life and disability Insurance 403B with company Match Health Savings account Employee Assistance Program PTO and 8 Paid Holidays Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a CNA: Provides care to residents according to each resident's individualized plan of care and according to facility policies and procedures. Assists residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, Gives treatments, performs tests, carries out procedures and collects specimens as instructed. Reports and records observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures and specimens when indicated. Transfers, transports and escorts residents as needed. Answers signal lights promptly. Changes bed linens, makes beds and keeps rooms clean and orderly. Adheres to the Resident Centered CARES Dining Service, which offers individualized menu choice as well as flexibility in dining times. Eating and feeding residents (serve tray or escort to dining room, feed, assist or set up food as needed, encourage and document food and fluid intake, adhere to modified diet regimens, provide nourishments between meals.) Dresses residents appropriately. Turns and positions residents who are unable to position themselves every two hours. Inspects residents' skin daily; observes for redness, open areas and rashes. Reports any change to charge nurse. Provides range of motion to all extremities daily with morning and evening care. Follows instructions of physical therapist to maintain proper body alignment, and proper positioning of all residents. Monitors and documents intake and output. Measures and records height and weight. Models and promotes Pomperaug Woods CARES by maintaining a homelike environment providing individualized care and services. Must work around domestic animals such as dogs, cats, birds, etc. Important QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of a State approved geriatric nursing assistant training program. Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred. Registration with State registry required. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Must be able to use a computer to document care given.
