Job Summary: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a crucial role in providing direct care to residents in our long-term care facility. CNAs assist residents with activities of daily living, provide emotional support, and contribute to a positive and nurturing environment. The CNA reports to the RN Supervisor or Charge Nurse and collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.

Transfer and assist residents with mobility as needed.

Monitor and report changes in residents' physical and emotional well-being.

Vital Signs and Monitoring:

Take and record vital signs accurately.

Observe and report any abnormalities or changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff.

Assistance with Medical Procedures:

Assist with medical procedures, as directed by the nursing staff.

Provide support to residents during examinations or treatments.

Nutrition and Hydration:

Assist with feeding residents, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.

Monitor and report any changes in residents' dietary preferences or restrictions.

Communication:

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.

Document care provided and report any significant information to the nursing staff.

Mobility Assistance:

Assist residents with mobility devices and exercises.

Implement fall prevention measures.

Emotional Support:

Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.

Encourage socialization and engagement in activities.

Safety and Infection Control:

Follow proper safety and infection control procedures.

Maintain a clean and organized environment.

Collaboration:

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers.

Attend and actively participate in team meetings and training sessions.

Resident Advocacy:

Advocate for residents' rights and preferences.

Report any concerns about resident care or well-being to the nursing staff.

Qualifications:

Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the state of New Jersey

High school diploma or equivalent.

CPR certification.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Compassionate and patient-focused approach.
